This cracks me up :)

I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that. 'Why?' my daughter asked. 'Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty, and probably has germs' I replied.
At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, 'Momma, how do you know all this stuff, you are so smart.' I was thinking quickly. 'All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mom Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mom.'
We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information. 'OH...I get it!' she beamed, 'So if you don't pass the test you have to be the Dad. ''Exactly' I replied back with a big smile on my face

Ramblings of a Weary Woman

The last days have been full of emotion for me. No I haven't cried, I just have been feeling SOOO many different things. First of all, Quin & I took Wyatt and Cooper through the Rexburg Temple Open house. It was incredible!! When we saw the baptismal font Cooper said "Mom, it's a swimmin' pool" and Wyatt wanted his rope to catch those "cows". It was neat to see the boys feel the spirit there. There were so good! I'm glad that we could take them to see it. Everytime we drive towards Rexburg, as soon as the Temple comes into view all my boys start singing "I love to see the temple" they don't have all of the words right, but they sure try! :)

Next, Quin & I have come to a really hard decision. We are moving back out to Mud Lake. Now don't get me wrong, I love it out there, I really do! But we'll have to sell this house that I've invested my whole heart it! I love the space inside, I've painted and decorated every room just the way that I wanted it to be. We've spent hours putting in sod and planting grass seed and we put in 100 trees just last summer (complete with the drip system). I have 100 tulips that I put in and tons of flowers that I've planted. But we don't have a lot of choices. We are dissolving the business -- well Dennis forced us to end it by breaking Quin's nose, long story, lots of blood involved. So now we are selling the equipment. It breaks my heart, mostly for Quin, but life happens. The best job offer that Quin got was actually working out at my Uncle Kirk's. I was suprised, but Quin is excited and actually loving it!! So since I want to see my farming husband sometimes, I know that we need to be out there. There you have it. Life goes on, and we have to go with it!

Then President Hinckley died this week. I can't believe that he really is no longer the prophet. I know that he's so happy now, but it still just shocked me. What a great man. What a great legacy he left. He taught us that the gosepel makes bad men good and good men (and women) better. What truth!

Well, this posting hasn't been that chipper has it! I really am excited to start this new part of life, in fact I can't wait to see what this new chapter of life will bring! Wish us luck!!! :)

I'm a slacker -

But for good reason! :)

You haven't heard anything new from me for a while, but we've had some excitement around here lately. Last Tues. Kim & Anthony Shurtliff (some of our best buddies) had a little boy. They named him Porter James, and he is so sweet! He weighed 9 lbs. 3 oz. and has the cutest chubby cheeks. They had him on oxygen for a couple days, but Kim & Port are home and healthy now. Then this morning Quin's sister Deidra and her husband had a little boy also! They named him McKabe Don. Can't wait to go see him and hug him a little! It's been FREEZING here, last night it was -20 or so -- NO SCHOOL FOR WYATT BOY! We are running extra heaters and trying to just stay inside. The today Quin and the boys went to the Potato Expo in Poky (oddly one of the high-lights of the year for them). I got to stay home this year (lucky momma). I am happy to say that all of my Christmas hoopla is finally down and put away *sigh* I hate that. Now I think that it's time for spring, and I still have a couple of MONTHS left by the look of the almost 3 feet of snow out my front door. Oh well, guess we'll make the most of it while we can, Wyatt wants a snowboard actually. I'll leave you with a cute picture of my Hoagie ~ I love that chicka! Bless the new babies!!! I'll post pictures later! (stupid picture won't go at the end, my mind must be frozen!)

Musing from a troubled heart...

So as some of you know the last few weeks, ok months, have been AWFUL for my little fam. I don't understand why we are subjected to so many trials. I've been trying to figure out what exactly I am supposed to learn, but I just don't know! I'm thankful that we're studying Joseph Smith this year in Sunday school -- I've loved being able to actually go to the lessons lately ... with no children on my lap. What a great man! I wonder if he ever wondered why he had the trials that he did. When he layed down that baby after holding him through the night, I can't imagine the anguish that Joseph must've felt when that little boy died. Some times in life it feels like all I can do is keep my head above the water. Do you ever feel that way?

Iron-Man

This made me chuckle ... :) Thanks Gram-Merlene

Could someone get me a drink!

So I'm trying to cut back on one of my vices ... Dr. Pepper.
I try and I try. I thought maybe it would help to just drink the diet stuff. No go, just doesn't do it for me. So I go back to drinking the hard stuff.
Today I've had whining chillens who want me to go outside with them. Didn't they get the memo that mama was tired. I yawn *YAWN* and then think that I must need a Dr. Pepper. Is that wrong? Should I really have (& I mean HAVE) to drink a beverage to actually get off my duffer and finish putting the laundry away, or go outside with the kiddies? Just a thought... :)
Cheerio!
(Notice that I used the color from a Dr. Pepper can for my font color, aren't I clever ;)

I've come to realize...

This last year has been full of turmoil. And 2008 seems to be following in those footsteps. In order to maintain my own sanity, I've made a list of a few resolutions that I want to work on this year.

**Annie Tuckett's Resolutions that will make 2008 a lot better than 2007**

1. Never work for family (at least not for certain family)
2. Blog more often, it makes me laugh at myself. It's amazing how entertaining I think that I am.
3. Read the scriptures every day with the boys, not just once in a while, I want them to know the scripture stories better than they know any disney movies (including Cars)
4. Keep my sink shiny (and other SAHM duties)
5. Make my bed everyday (this one is for Quin, it matters to him for some weird reason that I don't understand. I guess I don't have to understand, just do it)
6. Be an amazing aunt (it's about freaking time!)
7. Reach out to old & new friends
8. Be gentle to myself ... I'm the only me I got. :)

Well I better go shine my sink ... I think I may have OCD. What do you think?

Just a little remembering ... Summer 2006 ...

I've just been scrapping the heck out of this program ~ and I had to do some cute pages of my boys :) They are such cool little men!! I'll get some Christmas pictures on shortly!

And we're back :)

Happy New Year Friends & Family!!!

I hope that your Christmas was as jolly as ours! We had a holiday season full of visiting friends (We miss you already Siddoways) and family (love Uncle Ben, he's a crack-up). Quin did SOOO good ~ he gave me a new program for digital scrapbooking (as you can already see). I must admit that I'm hooked! I never thought that an addicted scrapaholic like me would ever get into this computer mumbo-jumbo, but I've seen the light! I love it~you can look forward to more fun pages that I'll share and maybe an update or two to this boring old page!
I hope that 2008 will be the year when your families grow closer, your hearts find peace, and your homes are filled with love!
Love Always, Annie & the rest of the Tuckett Crew
